Tane and his Children


Tane was God of the forest. He planted the first three trees in the forest. He made The birds live in his forest. He made berries for the birds to eat and made insects too. He made flowers so the insects could eat the honey. He said, 'The birds and the insects are my children.'

Hatupatu vs the Bird Woman


One day Hatupatu went into the forest he found where the bird woman lived. When the bird woman came home she found Hatupatu and put him in her cave. But Hatupatu ran away the bird woman chased him though the land. Hatupatu found a hole in a rock and hid in the hole the bird woman found him and chase him again. Hatupatu ran an ran until he came to a hot mud pool. He jump over it but the bird woman didn't. And it wasn't Hatupatu who got cooked.

Hatupatu found a forest where the bird woman lived and Hatupatu saw the bird woman. Hatupatu went farther into the cave. The bird woman chased him in her cave where she and her little birds lived. The bird woman's bird helped her too then Hatupatu ran away from the bird woman. The bird woman chased Hatupatu and when Hatupatu found a rock he hid in there. The bird woman found him beside the she chased him again. When they came to the hot mud pool and the bird woman got stack.So it wasn't Hatupatu who got cooked it was the bird woman who got cook.

Hatupatu went into the forest. He found the where the bird women lived. The bird women came home she caught hatupatu. She said i'll keep him until he is fat then I'll cook him. Hatupatu ran and ran he ran through the forest. Hatupatu hid in a rock but the bird women found him there. Then hatupatu jumped over the bubbling hot mud. but the bird women fell in. So it wasn't hatupatu who got cook.
